A Montana judge ruled that state agencies had violated plaintiffs’ constitutional rights by allowing fossil fuel development to continue, which is harming the environment. The lawsuit was brought by young environmental activists, aged between 5 and 22 – making it the first climate change case of its kind to go to trial in the US.
